Pulitzer Prize-winning American novelist and short story writer John Updike (1932-2009), best known for his four Rabbit novels (Rabbit Run, Rabbit Redux, Rabbit is Rich, and Rabbit at Rest; all four were published in one volume titled Rabbit Angstrom: The Four Novels). He was a prolific author, writing at least one book a year, focused on the struggles of the Protestant middle class living in a small town in America.
